Every June, PAWSwalk brings together animal lovers from across the region for a celebration of compassion, community, and animals.
But the walk isn’t just about putting paws to pavement—it’s about coming together as a community and raising funds for animals in need, in whatever way works for you. Whether that means walking to get a morning coffee, counting steps at work, or joining a team to meet up with some old or new friends – it’s entirely up to you.
If you are unsure how to participate or want to make the most out of your PAWSwalk experience, we strongly encourage you to join a team! Participating in PAWSwalk as a team amplifies our impact in several meaningful ways:
- Stronger Fundraising: Teams often raise more funds collectively, as members motivate each other and pool resources to support the cause.
- Greater Engagement: Walking together builds community, boosts motivation, and inspires teammates to reach personal and group milestones.
- Wider Reach: With more voices, teams can spread the word even farther introducing more people to the work PAWS does every day.
Meet three teams who demonstrate different methods to bring their own flare to PAWSwalk:
Talking it up
The Canine Campers are spreading the word the old-fashioned way: by talking to friends, family, fellow volunteers and community members. Whether it’s a chat at the dog park or a quick conversation at an event, their passion for the cause has helped them grow into an ulti-mutt team, with 40 members and counting!
Sharing on Socials
Over at PAWS Cat City, the Bobcats are the cats meow at using social media to stay connected. Their Facebook group is active year-round with fun ideas, inspirational messages, and plenty of hiss-terical cat memes. When PAWSwalk rolls around, the team members share their volunteer stories online to spread the word and rally support from family and friends.
Getting Creative:
Meanwhile, the Wildlife team, Owl-A-Palooza, launches a custom clothing fundraiser with their own unique twist on the team’s name. Last year, they were the 6 Pack of Cat and designed adorably clever tank tops and t-shirts. This year, we’re eagerly waiting to see what creative design they’ll unveil for Team Owl-A-Palooza!
